ABOUT THE CHOIR

The choir sing ten choral services each week, plus a wide range of special services, concerts and recordings. We have a large choral repertoire ranging from plainsong chant to spirituals, worship songs and modern music.

In recent years the choir has participated in a wide range of events including, various BBC TV and Radio engagements, visits to other churches in the Diocese, Five Cathedral Choirs' concert at Liverpool Cathedral, Cheshire Show at Knutsford and Lady Tamara Grosvenor's wedding to name but a few.

The girl's choir who range in age from 8-18, sing choral  evensong every Friday and alternate weekends with the lay clerks. They are currently recruiting new choristers and probationers. This summer they went on tour singing in Worcester Cathedral. more

The boy's choir sing choral  evensong every Wednesday and alternate weekends with the lay clerks. Last summer they visited the Cotswolds on tour. more

The Lay Clerks are six professional musicians based in the Chester area who sing 5 days a week during term-time. As music graduates, they also pursue careers as soloists and teachers. more
 

The Nave Choir sing regularly for Sunday  evening services as well as other services when the cathedral choir are on holiday. The choirs join for Christmas Midnight Mass and other events. more
